Lime Road has grown to become one of India's major e-commerce platforms for fashion and leisure products under Mukherjee's leadership. The site has over 30 million users and has assisted in connecting small and medium-sized enterprises with consumers around the country.

Mukherjee's entrepreneurial progress has not gone unnoticed. She has received various awards and honors, including inclusion on Fortune's 40 Under 40 list in 2016 and on Forbes' list of Self-Made Women in Asia in 2019.

Mukherjee's entrepreneurial trajectory has been marked by persistent experimentation and invention. She had already launched numerous successful firms, including the travel website Gumtree and the luxury fashion website Stylist Pick, before establishing Lime Road. Mukherjee has coupled her love of fashion with her aim to build a platform that benefits small businesses and promotes sustainability in the fashion sector with Lime Road.

Mukherjee's accomplishment serves as a reminder of the many bright female entrepreneurs making an impact in the Indian economic world. Her creative approach to social commerce has contributed to the creation of a platform that is not only profitable but also socially conscious and inclusive. Her narrative serves as motivation for young entrepreneurs, particularly women, who want to build a name for themselves in the business world.

The number of career transitions Suchi has made while still having the courage to continue her entrepreneurial adventure is a testament to Winston Churchill's famous phrase “Success is not final; Failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”.

Personal Branding – The Need of the Hour

Digital world has become an essential part of our life. For students, all digital platforms, whether it is networking websites like Facebook or Twitter or content websites like YouTube or Instagram, or their own blogs, all these platforms have become a day-to-day part of not just their personal life, but also their academic life.

Academic institutes, in India, as well as abroad, while selecting students for their graduate and undergraduate students, and companies while selective candidates for various job roles, along with checking students on various quality parameters and their academic performance, also give high importance to their activities in digital social life. They want to see and understand what are all activities a student does on these social media platforms. According to a study by Kaplan Study prep, online digital brand, which includes all digital activities by students, influence the decision-making of admission managers.  So, it is very important for students to present their best part on social media, create their personal brand using these online platforms, and maintain that for the long term.

Each of these social media platforms has a different purpose for its users. For example, Facebook is all about sharing what is happening in your personal or professional lives, however, LinkedIn is only for making business connections. Instagram is all about sharing the soft side of life, fun, and the color of life in terms of photographs or videos. YouTube is all about creating content, both personal and professional which is available to the public to view, comment on, or share. Essentially before starting to use all these platforms, students should understand the aim of these platforms so that they can get the best out of them, to build their personal brands.

Personal branding, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), is “what you’re known for and how people experience you. It’s about bringing who you are to what you do and how you do it.” For students, their personal branding is promoting their ideas, skills, knowledge, competencies, and achievements among their network, universities, or future employers where they want to start their dream jobs. This involves presenting the best part of you - your personality, communication, interpersonal skills, networking skills, hobbies, and passions. However, remember promotion is effective only if a product is of good quality and after-sales services are also good. Similarly, it is critical to developing required behavioral, leadership, and technical competencies; present them effectively on offline as well as online platforms; then continuously strive to improve them. That is the only way to build a long-term sustainable personal brand. As Rome was not built in a day, so for every person, it takes time to build a personal brand, both in the offline world as well as on social media.

At JAGSOM (Jagdish Sheth School of Management) which is part of Vijaybhoomi University, we focus on and help students to discover themself; develop advanced management competencies with new-age specializations like music, law, and data science; and help students to present their skills and competencies effectively to the outer world with an aim to build their own personal brand which is effective and sustainable in long term. JAGSOM is the only B-School in India that has both its campuses – Bangalore as well as Mumbai campus – AACSB accredited, which is a gold standard in management institutions across the world.

Campus’ Emptiness

Saarang Arora, B.Tech - AI, INSOFE

At Vijaybhoomi University, the end-term examinations mark the end of the term. This is often followed by the students packing their luggage and vacating their rooms for general maintenance and upkeep. During this time, most students head back home, or on a vacation to take a breather. It is during this period that the campus falls silent.

As the students filter out of the campus, they take with them the din of everyday life on campus. They leave the campus silent, almost deafeningly so. The usual crowd in the canteen is nowhere to be seen. The sporting facilities left abandoned, earning a rest from the thundering of running feet it receives.

It is during this time that the empty hallways look truly deserted. It is during this time that the library looks truly desolate. The life of the campus, suddenly drained away and stored in a few niches hidden by the shroud of silence.

Stargazing@VU

Saarang Arora, B.Tech - AI, INSOFE

Vijaybhoomi university, nestled at the foothills of the Sahyadri range, is surrounded by wildlife and nature. This provides a unique experience of the night sky at vijaybhoomi university.

Due to a lower rate of light and air pollution, the night skies at VU are perfect for stargazing. Students are often seen taking pictures of the stars and the moon at night, and with students of the vijaybhoomi school of design present, the results are some stunning shots of the sky by the students.

“Tsuki ga Kirei Desu”, or the moon is beautiful. I am reminded of this saying everytime I look up at the night sky here.

Being from a metropolitan city, the skies were covered with pollution, obscuring the heavens, but now it has become a habit of mine to stargaze and attempt to capture the beauty in a few pixels."

What form of transportation can I use to get to a nearby market?

Shritika Dubey, Vijaybhoomi School of Law

If I had to discuss the travel assistance provided by Vijaybhoomi University to students travelling from Karjat to the university, I would say that the university collaborates with some local merchants.

Therefore, the university can supply a vehicle whenever a student wishes to leave campus, and after a period of time, they will receive assistance from other students who routinely visit the market. In addition to this, there are government buses and shuttle cars that operate at set times throughout the day.

Due to the establishment of a five-year institution, the neighbouring landowners are now receiving a strong return on their investment, increasing the frequency of cars compared to five years before.

Some students at the university have their own vehicle, therefore if we wish, we can bring any vehicles from home and park it in the space designated by the institution for car parking.
