We are incredibly proud of Shivam Pratapwar and Deepika Ambade, third-year students from the 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, who secured 3rd place in the national 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 hosted by Indian Institute of Technology, Patna! Their innovative approach to classifying galaxies using real astronomical data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and Galaxy Zoo, combined with advanced machine learning models, led them to success in this 12-hour data sprint. From painting their best friend’s “best emotion” to mixing primary colors and discovering new shades, this hands-on workshop was a great way to deepen their understanding of color relationships and practical design skills.
