Vijaybhoomi University and NTTF Sign MoU to Enable Work-Integrated Higher Education Pathways
Karjat, Maharashtra | February 2026
Vijaybhoomi University (VU), India’s first Liberal Professional University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) to create structured academic progression pathways for learners trained through industry-aligned technical programs.
The collaboration is designed to formally integrate vocational and technical training with university-recognised academic credentials, enabling working professionals to pursue higher education without disrupting their employment. The partnership aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF), which emphasise flexibility, credit mobility, and lifelong learning.
Under the MoU, learners completing NTTF’s Mechatronics programs including apprentices and industry-sponsored participants will be eligible to receive a Technical Diploma in Mechatronics awarded by Vijaybhoomi University. This qualification will be aligned with NHEQF Level 4.5, making it equivalent to an undergraduate certificate.
The agreement further establishes a clearly defined academic progression pathway. Learners may advance to an Advanced Technical Diploma and subsequently transition into a B.Tech in Mechatronics, with provisions for lateral entry and blended or hybrid modes of delivery. This structure allows professionals to build academic depth while remaining actively engaged in the workforce.
A key focus of the collaboration is academic governance and quality assurance. Vijaybhoomi University will undertake curriculum evaluation, credit mapping, and academic oversight to ensure that learning outcomes meet national higher education standards. A joint Steering Academic Committee will guide curriculum alignment, assessment frameworks, and continuous academic review.
This represents a step towards bridging the long-standing gap between skill-based training and formal higher education in India. By integrating industry-relevant technical education with structured academic credentials, the partnership seeks to strengthen employability, academic mobility and long-term career continuity for learners.
For students and working professionals, the collaboration provides access to nationally recognised qualifications, clearer progression routes and the ability to move seamlessly between skill development and higher education. For the broader education ecosystem, it offers a scalable model for work-integrated learning that aligns institutional rigor with real-world application.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Ravi Tennati, Managing Director, NTTF, said:
“This partnership with Vijaybhoomi University is a milestone in our journey to elevate industry-focused training into nationally recognized academic credentials. It validates the rigor of NTTF’s programs and, more importantly, empowers our learners with long-term educational and career pathways.”
Mr. Sanjay Padode, President, Vijaybhoomi University, said:
“Vijaybhoomi University is committed to reimagining higher education for working professionals. This collaboration with NTTF reflects our belief that high-quality vocational training deserves academic recognition and progression aligned with global standards.”
Mr. Edwin Moses, CEO, Centre for Development of Education (CDE), said:
“This MoU represents the future of education where industry, skill institutions, and universities collaborate to create flexible, outcome-driven learning ecosystems that truly serve learners and employers alike”
Together, Vijaybhoomi University and NTTF aim to strengthen India’s approach to higher education by creating pathways that recognise skills, enable academic advancement, and support learners across different stages of their professional journey.
