Dr. Sharvari Vaidya
Dr. Sharvari Vaidya is an accomplished legal academic, researcher, author, practitioner, and academic administrator with over 15 years of experience in legal education and law practice. She holds an M.A. in English Literature, LL.M. in Criminology, and Ph.D. in Law, with specialisation in Criminal Law, Legal Research Methodology, and Legal Research.
Dr. Vaidya has authored 22 books for undergraduate law students and competitive examinations and has contributed significantly to legal scholarship through 24 research papers, including 17 Scopus-indexed publications, along with presentations at national conferences, book chapters, and copyright contributions.
She has held several important academic leadership positions, including Dean, School of Law, and Head of the LL.M. Department at Sandip University, Nashik. She has also served as Chairperson of the Board of Studies (BoS) , Doctoral Research Committee (DRC), and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and has been associated with ICCs as an external member at various institutions. She is also actively engaged as a POSH trainer and facilitator for certification programmes.
Dr. Vaidya has substantial experience in NAAC accreditation and institutional quality enhancement. At her previous institution, she served as Head of NAAC Criterion VII (Institutional Values and Best Practices) and was actively involved in the institution’s NAAC accreditation process. As Dean of the School of Law, she represented the institution before the NAAC Peer Team, contributing to the institutional assessment and quality-assurance process through academic documentation, best practices, and quality initiatives. Her contribution formed part of the institution’s successful NAAC accreditation, in which the university secured an A+ Grade. This experience has given her strong exposure to NAAC processes, quality benchmarks, institutional documentation, best practices, and continuous quality improvement.
A strong proponent of clinical, experiential, and practice-oriented legal education, Dr. Vaidya has worked extensively to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of legal practice and society. She has promoted collaborative clinical legal education and organised numerous legal aid camps, moot court competitions, Supreme Court visits, expert lectures, research programmes, and other experiential learning initiatives.
She has delivered expert lectures and training programmes on POSH, legal research methodology, criminal law, and contemporary legal issues at various academic institutions and organisations. Her academic leadership is characterised by a strong commitment to student engagement, professional development, research, innovation, and employability.
Dr. Vaidya is a strong advocate of integrating emerging technologies, Artificial Intelligence, interdisciplinary learning, and industry collaboration with legal education. She believes that contemporary law schools must go beyond conventional classroom teaching and prepare students for the evolving requirements of the legal profession, corporate sector, technology-driven legal services, research, policy, and entrepreneurship.As Dean, her vision is to build a future-ready, professionally oriented, research-driven, and socially responsible law school that equips students with legal knowledge, practical competencies, technological awareness, and entrepreneurial skills to confidently meet the changing demands of the legal profession and the broader employment landscape.
