Abhinita Mohanty is an academic and researcher with a PhD in Social Sciences and Sustainability from IIT Madras. She specializes in sustainability and behavioural science, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to social and environmental issues. Her ongoing research explores food systems, sustainability, and agroecology, contributing valuable insights into sustainable practices and consumer behaviour.

In addition to her role as an assistant professor, Dr. Mohanty has brief experience in the development sector. She previously served as the State Monitoring and Evaluation Manager at ActionAid in Ranchi, where she worked on a UNICEF-funded project on Youth empowerment.

Dr. Mohanty specialises in courses such as Sociology, Anthropology, Consumer Psychology, Behavioral Science, Environment and Sustainability, and Business Environment. She has published a paper in a national/international journal. She holds the role of co-chair for the Social Immersion Program at Vijaybhoomi University, further emphasising her commitment to socially engaged scholarship.
