Mahesh Tinaikar
Guitar player and founding member of the trailblazing rock band Indus Creed, Mahesh Tinaikar’s iconic status as one of India’s most influential musicians cannot be overstated. The virtuosic and highly melodic guitar player has been an inspiration to aspiring axemen across the country since the mid-1980s, when he first hit the stage with his band Rock Machine (name changed to Indus Creed in 1994). Mahesh’s achievements as a guitar player and songwriter for the multi-award-winning band are manifold; won numerous video music awards including the Asia-wide MTV Viewers’ choice award for their son ‘Pretty Child’, voted best Indian band by Channel V including being the first Indian band to feature on MTV Asia.
As an independent composer, he has composed music for various TV serials as well as theme music for BBC programmes. He has also composed the channel IDs for the Times Now news channel when it was launched in 2005.
Mahesh has also been a music educator since 2011 giving private lessons and also was part of the True School Of Music faculty from 2016 -18 in Mumbai. He continues to give one on one lessons, train students in ensembles and considers it a privilege to impart his knowledge and experience to aspiring guitar players and music enthusiasts.
