Personal Branding – The Need of the Hour

Work-based degrees are an effective way of upskilling employees and developing their skillset. Employees can work towards a qualification while studying primarily in a workplace and earning a wage.

Employers can benefit from staff retention and investing in their workforce, improving the confidence and skills of their staff. Our courses are designed in partnership with industry to ensure that they fit the needs of both the students and their employers.

Dr. Santosh Shriram Sonavane
Pro-Vice Chancellor
Vijaybhoomi University

The Degrees designed with Work-based learning consists of structured opportunities for learning and is achieved through authentic activity and is supervised in the workplace. Work-based learning is delivered through a meaningful partnership between students, employers, and the education organisation.

Work-integrated learning makes Higher Education meaningful for students by personalising their learning, enhancing their awareness of the working relationship, enhancing work-related learning, and encouraging personal aspiration.

Work-based learning experiences provide the opportunity to strengthen six key soft skill areas – communication, enthusiasm and attitude, teamwork, networking, problem-solving and critical thinking, and professionalism. These types of skills provide a competitive advantage for achieving career goals.

Apprenticeships (formal and informal), internships/traineeships and on-the-job training are the most common types of work-based learning. These types usually – but not always – combine elements of learning in the workplace with classroom-based learning.

Work-integrated learning allows the student to not only hone their technical and academic skills but it will also help the student to practice and improve their various soft skills. This will allow students to not only be technically competent, but they will also be able to have good leadership and communication skills.

How Rain Transforms

It is July, and that means the monsoon season for the inhabitants of the Greater Mumbai region. Monsoon brings with it the relief of the refreshingly cool rain from the sweltering heat of the summers.

In VijayBhoomi University, students had a mixed and polarising reaction to the rain. Some students, firmly of the opinion that rain brings good times with them, enjoyed the tea with fritters as an evening snack, as is tradition. Others, of the opinion that rains cause nothing but humidity problems or an incessant increase in monsoon pests such as frogs, crabs and insects, planted themselves in the common areas sheltered from the rain.

Whatever be the opinion of the students on rain, one thing is certain. Each person on the campus appreciates the change in scenery that the rains have brought upon us. They create a scenic view all around campus. The hills that surround the campus on three sides now have beautiful waterfalls and rolling clouds.

It is a sight that everyone, be it student or faculty, has been enjoying. The rain along with the fresh mountain air give a very refreshing feel to the monsoon season at VijayBhoomi University

The Influx of July ‘22

After spending a week at home recuperating, the students are back and more ready than ever to return to campus and start their new terms.

The students were shuffled this term. Meaning, that the students were assigned new hostel rooms and new hostel roommates for the coming year. This is a system that promotes social integration of the students as well as exposure to other fields of study as often, the students paired up are from a different school or even year of study.

This term, The True School of Music also welcomed its new batch of students coming for the various courses offered by TSM at VijayBhoomi University. An orientation was held for the students prior to the course registration so as to provide the students with guidance on how and what to do.

This term, the course registration also took a more formal approach as the administration mandated signed printouts of the registered courses to be submitted to the programs office. This will allow for students to retain a document that indicates the courses and their details that a student has opted for on the ERP.
